STEM Education

STEM and robotics education are crucial for middle school students. They help develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and growth mindset skills necessary for the 21st-century job market. Robotics education provides hands-on experience in designing, building, and programming robots, enhancing understanding of math, science, and engineering concepts. These subjects foster creativity, innovation, and teamwork skills, which are essential for success in modern workplaces. In conclusion, STEM and robotics education prepare middle school students for the demands of the future workforce.

Gibbs Middle School Robotics was started in 2018 by a small group of students dedicated to exploring robotics. That first-year GMS brought in three awards and participated at the state level. Since our first year, GMS has brought in over a dozen awards, seven state spots, and hosted Knox County's annual Battle on the Hill. Dedication, creativity, and teamwork are all major factors in what we do. We are looking forward to another amazing season, join us!
